The story behind this photo (see the Watkins Glen CanAm page for another story):
I wandered the paddock at the 2008 Monterey Historics for a while before I came upon this car. I asked for the owner, admittedly by interrupting a conversation between two people who talked as if the new something about the car. Turns out the younger of the two was the owner. He immediately started comparing my photo to the restored car: color is different, screens in the cutouts, different typography. Then he turns to me and says “By the way, this is the original driver.” Turns out he was the older guy in the conversation I interrupted. But he was kind enough to autograph my book, and I returned the favor by sending a photo.
